Seniors

The Senior Section is open to members who are over 55 years of age. It meets every Tuesday morning, usually at 9.00 a.m. to play 9 holes, but once a month there is an 18 hole competition, which starts at 8.00 (although those who don't wish to play 18 can start as usual at 9.00 a.m. for nine holes). On nine-hole days, a shotgun start is used, which ensures that all finish their rounds at roughly the same time, so that we can enjoy a coffee, a dram and a sausage roll together. There are various competitions throughout the year - a Winter League, as well as summer events which can be viewed in the calendar. Senior matches are played against other local clubs, and there is a very popular annual outing.

The Senior Section is a very sociable group, and joining it is an excellent way of getting to know people in the Club. It caters for players of all standards - indeed, the Section awards Senior handicaps for use in its own competitions, while the eighteen-hole scores qualify for National handicaps.
